Featured Natural Wines - Fall 2020

In 2018, our good friends at Bandit Coffee Co. introduced us to the world of ‘natural’ wines. Natural, or raw, wines are low-intervention organic, biodynamic and natural wines. In completely non-technical terms, it’s the old school way winemakers used to make wine without interfering with the process with sulfates and such. It’s an old concept making a come back. The flavors that come with low-intervention wine are vast and delicious. We have learned what our favorites are, but we are always tasting new ones that come our way.

Below are two wines we have been enjoying over the summer. The Glou Glou may be Marti’s favorite wine, a ‘chuggable’ wine that offers a deep flavor that leans more toward grape juice than red wine. She pairs it with take-out pizza or homemade pasta. Our other favorite is the Moni from Furlani. A beautiful, effervescent look and taste, perfect on a hot summer day while waiting for your food to grill or hanging at the beach. You can see the fermented ‘mother’ in this bottle, giving it a kombucha feel and slightly similar taste.

If you want to try some natural wine, hit up our friends at Bandit Coffee Co - they are steadily building their inventory and always curating the best wines that you may not even be able to buy in NYC. Check out their site or even give them a call to find a new wine for yourself. Plus they have curbside pickup to be Covid-safe!
